Landscaping in Sorrento

About this area

Sorrento has a particular character, established, leafy streets, significant Victorian and Edwardian homes alongside contemporary builds, and a strong design culture among homeowners who treat their properties seriously. The landscape here often needs to respond to existing mature vegetation and architecture as much as it does to a new design brief.

Building in Sorrento

Sorrento sites often involve working around established trees, root zones and existing structures. The sandy limestone soils common to the back beach side of the Peninsula require specific preparation for planting and hardscape. Many properties are on large blocks where the full scope of works is significant.

"We engaged Michael at Formed to do our native coastal garden. His values, level of care, and commitment to quality were exceptional and not often found in some trades today. He offered to store some totem posts for our design and met us on-site with the landscape designer and provided valuable input into the design, construction and cost, all with no expectation of winning our work. Mike was proactive with his communication, and throughout our project, nothing was ever a problem for Mike or his entire team. The quality of their work was exceptional, and their ability to fabricate and adapt the design onsite as needed provided us with a fantastic landscape garden that we thoroughly enjoy every day."
