We protect your design. We protect your reputation.
When you refer a client to a landscaper, your reputation goes with them. If the build falls short - if details are lost, corners are cut, communication drops off - it reflects on you as much as on the builder.
We understand that. It is why designers who work with us keep coming back.
We build to the design as drawn. We resolve details before construction begins. We communicate clearly throughout the build. And when something unexpected comes up on site, we bring it to you - we do not make unilateral decisions about your design.
What you can expect from us
Protecting the design intent
We read drawings carefully. We ask questions early - before construction begins, not after something has been built wrong. We understand proportion, material specification and the details that make a design read the way it was intended to. We do not simplify or substitute without discussion.
Protecting your client relationship
Your client's experience during the build reflects on you. We run a structured, well-communicated build process so clients feel informed and in control without needing to be across every detail. When the project runs smoothly, it validates the referral you made.
Being easy to work with
We communicate clearly and promptly. We do not create friction. If there is a site issue that requires a design decision, we brief you properly and give you what you need to make the call. We do not escalate unnecessarily or make problems your problem to manage.
How we work with designers
Before the quote
We review the drawings carefully before meeting on site. We come to the site meeting prepared - with questions about scope, material specifications, construction methods and any details that need resolving before we can price accurately. We do not submit a vague or incomplete quote that creates problems later. Incomplete quotes lead to variations. We avoid that.
During the quote process
Our proposals are detailed and transparent. Where we have value management suggestions, we raise them with you before presenting to the client - so you can assess whether they compromise the design intent before they reach your client. We do not go around you.
During construction
Your site supervisor knows the design. They have read the drawings and they understand what the design is trying to achieve, not just what it instructs them to build. When something is unclear on site, it gets raised, not assumed.
We send regular updates with site photography. You do not need to visit site to know what is happening - though you are always welcome.
When the project is finished
The handover matters. The finished result reflects the design as intended, the client is looked after and the site is clean. That is what we are working toward, and it reflects on both of us.
Project spotlights
We build across the Mornington Peninsula, working closely with designers on projects that are technically demanding and design-led.
"We engaged Michael at Formed to do our native coastal garden. His values, level of care, and commitment to quality were exceptional and not often found in some trades today. He offered to store some totem posts for our design and met us on-site with the landscape designer and provided valuable input into the design, construction and cost, all with no expectation of winning our work.
Mike was proactive with his communication, and throughout our project, nothing was ever a problem for Mike or his entire team. The quality of their work was exceptional, and their ability to fabricate and adapt the design onsite as needed provided us with a fantastic landscape garden that we thoroughly enjoy every day.”

Working with designers long-term
We are looking to work with designers who want a landscaper they can rely on project after project, someone they can recommend to clients with confidence. That is the kind of relationship we are built for.
If that is what you are looking for, we would like to talk.
